🔎 Job Description:
Petrofac, a global leader in energy infrastructure services, is seeking a Principal HSE Design Engineer with expertise in offshore safety and loss prevention. This role involves spearheading technical safety designs, risk studies, and regulatory compliance for offshore wind energy platforms, with a focus on German and Dutch standards.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
● Develop HSE design basis, philosophies, and detailed studies (FERA, CFD, EERA, QRA, RAM, Thermal Plume)
● Prepare layouts, datasheets, equipment specs, P&ID, hazardous area schedules, and fire protection system designs
● Organize and participate in HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, SIL, ALARP, RAM, FMECA, Bow-Tie, and SCE workshops
● Provide design input for German and Dutch offshore regulatory requirements
● Prepare requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and manage vendor deliverables
● Coordinate with clients, regulators, safety consultants, and engineering teams
● Participate in FAT, SAT, HAT, and commissioning of safety systems
● Review vendor documentation and support construction/commissioning queries
🎯 Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
● 12+ years of technical safety and loss prevention in offshore projects
● In-depth knowledge of DNV, VdS standards, and European offshore regulations
● Experience with offshore platforms and safety systems (lifeboats, fire systems, etc.)
● Strong communication and presentation skills
● Proficiency in English (German and Dutch preferred)
