Job Overview:
Wood is seeking a qualified and experienced Site HSE Engineer to join our growing team in the onshore downstream oil & gas sector. This is a strategic role, central to delivering health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence across our energy projects in the UAE.
As a Site HSE Engineer, youβll ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk, and promote a safety-first culture across the project lifecycle. Join our global community of innovators and help shape a low-carbon, sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities:
βοΈ Develop and implement HSE policies, SOPs, and monitoring systems
βοΈ Conduct HSE audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification
βοΈ Lead incident investigations and prepare reports with root cause analysis
βοΈ Deliver employee safety training and awareness programs
βοΈ Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and international HSE regulations
βοΈ Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to embed HSE into all activities
βοΈ Maintain HSE documentation and generate performance reports
βοΈ Track industry best practices and evolving compliance requirements
Role Requirements:
π Bachelorβs Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
π 10+ years of HSE experience in the oil & gas sector (primarily onshore downstream)
π¦Ί 5+ years in a similar HSE-focused site role
π Strong knowledge of local and international HSE legislation, ISO standards, and risk management practices
π Proficiency in reporting systems and incident investigation frameworks
